A Common Cause for Community
Joanne and Chuck Gibson lived in Concord for 53 years before moving to Newbury Court in August 2022. “The sense of community here is wonderful,” Joanne marvels.
That community spirit extends to charitable giving. “Our friends—people we admire—encouraged us to join The 1889 Society,” says Chuck. “It’s become part of the culture here.”
“A lot of people have given in the past” notes Joanne. Their generosity made it possible for Newbury Court to go the extra mile and do what it felt was best during COVID. We’re fortunate to be able to contribute to help future residents.”
To join The 1889 Society, the Gibsons made Newbury Court one of several beneficiaries of a Charitable Remainder Trust they established back in the 1980s. “All we had to do was substitute Newbury Court for a previous beneficiary and complete a new beneficiary designation form,” explains Chuck. “It was easy.”
